Dark in the way that my stomach felt hollow and I had to put it down a few times to catch my breath. I also was so drawn to it that I couldn't walk away. I had to know how it was going to end."

About The Russo Saga
Luciano Salvatore and Bianca Russo, born Salvatore, are the children of immigrants who came from Italy to the US in the fifties, searching for a new life in the promised land in the west. The little family was poor and the parents worked hard to provide for their children. Bianca met ten years older Jackie Russo when she was fifteen, fell pregnant and got married. Shortly after, their parents died in an accident at the textile factory where they both worked and Bianca took in her ten years younger brother, raising him as her own child alongside her own growing family. During the birth of her fifth child, Jackie was shot dead in a gang related war.
Luciano and Bianca never saw any support from the authorities after their parents' deaths. They had begun stealing for food at an early age, and after Bianca met Jackie, the two started building the seed to what would later become a vast empire of organized crime, spanning from Chicago to the west coast, with its seat in San Francisco. When Jackie was murdered and the cops shrugged at yet another gang killing, she lost all faith in justice and the American society as she ruthlessly started creating her own luck. With her two eldest boys being in their teens, Christian Russo, then 15 years old, Nathan Russo, then 12 years old, and with their 20 year old uncle Luciano at the helm, she executed a gruesome revenge on the men who had murdered her husband, annihilating every single one and taking over their business as well. He called for Christian and Nathan, and had also found young Eric, an orphaned kid roaming the streets and with a natural talent for killing, raising him, making him his right hand man.
Matteo Russo runs a real estate business with some money laundering on the side, while Luca Russo studies law at day and overlooks the gambling clubs at night. Both still live in Chicago. Angela Russo has fled to New York where she studies art and refuses to have anything to do with her family.
